Settling in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina in 1995, Marilyn and her husband, Bill, have raised their three children and become deeply involved in their community. Marilyn pursued her professional dream of helping children through teaching music in public and private schools at all grade levels. Seeing the joys of teaching students spurred Marilyn to take a higher-level involvement in making her community a better place.
Marilyn has been and continues to be significantly involved in her community through leadership roles in the Junior League, Asheville Symphony Orchestra, her neighborhood, and other civic groups.
For the past 23 years, Marilyn has seen firsthand the dynamic changes happening in and around Buncombe County. With growth occurring in the form of new economic opportunities and rapid influx of people that want to settle in our majestic community, Marilyn understands the challenges we have overcome but wants to be part of the solution to the ones on the horizon.
Marilyn’s listen first approach will give the citizens of our community the ability to have their voices heard in Raleigh.
